Welcome to the official page of the SHANI'S GIRLS ladies performance teams directed by SHANI TALMOR

Where Technique Meets Styling

As the director of Shani’s Girls, I want to help each team member evolve as a well rounded dancer.  My priority is to emphasize technique and fluidity of motion.   Because of this solid foundation, Shani’s Girls can easily learn my choreography which combines salsa moves with elements of jazz, hip hop, samba, cha cha, and reggeatton

Each dancer has her own unique style.  None of the ladies dance exactly the same but they all look good together on stage as one thanks to a high level of technique, an understanding of the dance, and the connection to their body movement and the music

The story behind Shani's Girls:

"Shani's Girlsbegan as a small showcase project that was prepared for the Puerto Rico International Salsa and Hustle Congress in 2007.  The congress provided an opportunity for students to perform with their teachers so Shani and her girls seized the chance to work on a special project together.  They practiced diligently for event in a very short period of time and performed it successfully for the first time in October.

After the Puerto Rico congress, Shani decided to continue working with the ladies and founded an official ladies styling performance team.  Word and interest spread quickly, many new ladies joined the Shani’s Girls family so Shani split the ladies into two separate teams

         Shani's Girls Pro Team

         Shani's Girls Semi-Pro team

Since 2007, both Shani's Girls teams have performed successfully in many salsa congresses, local socials and events as well as many premier Latin clubs/events in New York City and across the United States:

Washington D.CSalsa Congress

Miami International Salsa and Hustle Congress

New York International Salsa Congress

Boston Salsa Congress

Connecticut Salsa Fest

Philadelphia Salsa Festival

NY Hispanic Heritage Celebration at South Street Seaport, NYC

“Dancers Night Out” hosted by Edwin Rivera , NYC

*Taj, NYC

*Cache, NYC

*Iguanas, NYC

*and many more...

In 2008, the Shani's Girls Pro team came in second place in the team division at the Miami International Salsa and Hustle Congress.  All of the ladies received a medal - they, together with Shani, were very proud of what their hard work and dedication accomplished over the year!

In 2009 Shani's Girls participated in auditions for the famous TV show"America ‘s Got Talent."  The ladies didn’t make it to the finals but were honored to be invited to the show’s auditions after the producers saw their shows over YouTube  It was a great experience for the team
